Palace of Versailles
Take the train to Versailles, tour the palace with its rich decoration and hear the story of the French court, its splendours, scandals and the sometimes poignant stories of what life was really like for royalty. We see the elegant town, walk in the superb gardens to see some of the beautiful sculptures and hear the stories they represent. We can also visit Queen Marie Antoinette's beautiful country retreat and model village on the full day.  Our guide will  meet you at your hotel, accompany you for the tour and help you make the most of all there is to see there.
Price starts at 320€ for a long half day, and 550€ for a full day for the guide.
Transport, entrance fees and timed entry is extra. A timed reservation is obligatory for the guide to be able to speak to you inside the palace. This costs 30€ + plus entrance fees.
Transport costs about 7€ per person

Walking Tours (Price starts at 190€ for two hours, 220€ for 2 and a half hours)
 
The Islands and the Marais
An ideal walk for those who want one tour to capture the essence of Paris on foot. We start on Ile de la Cité, to trace the early development of Paris, and then look at Notre Dame Cathedral, which is under restoration, and hear the story of the tragic fire. The tour includes the poignant memorial to the deported, the romantic Ile St Louis with its tree-lined quaysides, and then we explore the historic Marais district with its beautiful architecture and finish at the oldest square in Paris, the lovely Place des Vosges.
This tour can be 2 hours, but we recommend 2 and a half hours to spend a little more time in the Marais.

Tours for families with children
 
Family friendly Introduction to Paris
We have guides who are experienced with children and will make the tour informative and fun. The guide will collect you at your hotel and take you on a tour designed to interest the whole family. This tour will show you some of the essential sights of the city: a tour of Notre Dame cathedral where we read some of the stories in the sculpted figures, identify some amusing faces in the gargoyles, and hear the story of poor Quasimodo, the famous Hunchback of Notre Dame. We look at the Island 'Ile de la Cité' and its pretty flower market, the charming smaller island 'Ile St Louis' with a stop for the famous ice creams, the medieval kings' mighty palace, Paris's oldest bridge, the Louvre from the outside and the new glass pyramid.
 
This is an excellent introduction to the city, the guide can take you on the metro so that you feel confident about using the excellent Paris public transport on your own.
Duration: 3hrs. Price 270€ (Transport not included. The guide is your guest for any refreshments)
This tour can be adapted to suit your family. It is possible to go inside the Conciergerie Prison to see the medieval great-hall of the king's palace, the cells of the Revolutionary prisoners, and a blade from the guillotine. This can be an option if weather is not so good. (Entrance costs 14€ for adults)
 
Other Family Tours
Combinations which appeal to children and can be visited in a three hour tour: the Invalides and the Sewers; the Invalides and the Rodin Museum; the Louvre and the Opera House, an extravagantly decorated fairy tale palace. The Louvre and Notre Dame; The Louvre and a walk on the theme of the French Revolution; Musée d'Orsay and the Rodin Museum; Musée d'Orsay and Notre Dame. These tours offer variety and allow you to visit a large museum such as the Louvre in an introductory tour suited to children and combine this with another place of interest. This would make an enjoyable morning or afternoon for your family. The guide can finish by recommending a suitable place for lunch or afternoon tea with the famous Paris ice creams. We can customise a day for you to include some of these places which will come to life on a visit with one of our family friendly guides: Notre Dame and Ile de la Cité, Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur, the Arc de Triomphe, the Conciergerie Prison, the lavishly decorated Paris Opera House, an underground tour of the Sewers, Napoleon's Tomb at the Invalides, the Rodin Museum.

The group price of a guide for a two hour tour is usually 200€ for a small group; three hours is 270€, but may depend on the number of people in the group.
 
Museums
The Louvre or the Musée d'Orsay. We recommend 2 hours for Orsay (200€) and 2 and a half hours for the Louvre: 230€. Entrance tickets are extra. (Prices can depend on the number of people. Groups can be up to 6 people)
 
The Louvre
On this tour of highlights of the fabulous collection of the Louvre Museum you will see how the building evolved from a mighty castle to the main palace of the kings of France and then to become the splendid museum it is today with its modern glass pyramid as an entrance. Our guide will lead you through this vast and beautiful building to see world famous masterpieces of sculpture, painting, objets d'art, jewels, and some splendidly decorated rooms. The tour includes the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, the Sphinx, masterpieces of French and Italian painting and of course the Mona Lisa. You will also see some lesser known but beautiful works. We will get you timed tickets. (20€ per adult) The circuit can depend on room closures, and the choice of your guide.
 
The Musée d'Orsay
Our expert guides will help you enjoy and understand this particularly rich period of French art, with historical background and the human stories of the famous artists.You will see elegant portraits and nudes from the Second Empire, which can be compared to the works of the Realists and Impressionists who rejected this style to paint views of modern life. Understand why these beautiful Impressionist works were ridiculed in their day, and how artists such as Van Gogh and Gauguin paved the way for modern art. You will see masterpieces by Renoir, Monet and Manet, some sculptures and the fascinating model of the Opera House. We will get you timed tickets. (20€ per adult)
 
Small group private tours
Introduction to Paris
This tour will show you some of the main sights of the city.  A walk on Ile de la Cité, a view of Notre Dame cathedral, we see the flower market, the medieval kings’ palace which became the prison of the Revolution, the River Seine, Paris’ oldest bridge, the imposing City Hall, the new pyramid at the Louvre, the Tuileries gardens, the fateful place de la Concorde where the guillotine stood, and view the famous Avenue des Champs Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower in the distance. This tour can be adapted to suit your family or group. This will give you an overview of the city centre. Your stay will be greatly enhanced with the insights, advice and recommendations of a local guide. The tour can usually be done entirely on foot, but we can show you how to use the metro if you wish. The guide can collect you from your hotel or you can meet at Notre Dame or somewhere central.

Introduction to Paris and Taste of Paris. The introduction tour with a visit to a neighbourhood and fresh produce market. 330€ for 4 hours. The food you will taste is extra to this (25€ per person)
 
Eurostar / Overview  Day (for couples or small family groups)
This day tour can be customised to what you would like to include. Here are some ideas:
This is an excellent overview of the city with a mixture of famous sights and typical neighbourhoods. The guide will meet you at the station, then take you to see Notre Dame and Ile de la Cité. Stop for a lunch of your choice in a restaurant in the Latin Quarter, the guide stays with you for lunch and helps you order and explains French customs. In the afternoon, either travel by bus or metro to view the Eiffel Tower and then see the Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe, or visit the charming neighbourhood of Montmartre, famous for its association with artists, before returning to the station. Price depends on the length of time involved, starting at 270€ for 3 hours and 330€ for 4.
 
A guide for a full day costs 550€. Price may vary with the number of people or time requirements. Refreshments and transport not included. We recommend public transport which is both cheap and efficient, and provides an authentic experience. (The guide is your guest for meals and refreshments).
